Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. 2.Adoption of Agenda Joe Younge moved adoption of the Agenda with additions. Seconded by Gary Dunlop. Carried. 3.Adoption of the Minutes of the meetings of July 2006 Gary Dunlop moved adoption of the Minutes of May 16th, 2006 as amended. Seconded by Gus Wruck. Carried. 4.Financial Report - • Carried to next meeting. 5.Correspondence Sent 6. Correspondence Received • Received request for information about joining MACO from Terry Stonehouse (Lake of the Prairies). 7.Old Business a) Website - Dave Crabb emailed Stan requesting he advise when web can be updated. b) Water Stewardship Fund - • Carry forward. c) Cheque for $5,000 - No contact until this week. They will get back to us. Received letter from the province requesting reporting by August 15th. d) School Taxes- • Gus e) Pelican Lake - Joe Younge advised Oak Lake Fish Enhancement Association and Pelican Lake combined. Consultant agreed with Oak Lake, not Conservation. He suggested Pat contact Rick Plaizier in Oak Lake for an update. f) AGM Speakers - Minister of Education or alternate (send request by email) Program Elections g) Meeting dates 8.New Business a) Meeting dates. 9.Directors' Reports Gus Wruck -. • Advised of the death of "Patches" the dog that lived at Milner Ridge. Gus is now officially retired. Dave Crabb - • Sympathy from MACO to those on Gull Lake and Winnipeg River for their losses. • The Winnipeg Free Press bill has been adjusted but there is still a small amount owing. • Bears are being spotted more often. The Bear Watch booklet has good information - facts and myths. Gary Dunlop - • Annual picnic went well. The beacon is not dead. Pat Dunlop • Now Past President of Lundar Beach & Sugar Point Cottage Association. Advised that telephone call and follow-up email was sent to Heidi Hamm of mf.1. No response to date. Requested suggestions/input into Newsletter. Joe Younge - • Oak Lake Association held the annual flea market August 5th. It was largest ever. There is a sewage hauling problem - dumping fee being added. Lagoon water clearer than usual but still has weeds. Donna Jean Crabb - • Beautiful summer. Hasn't heard of any beach closures. They had a successful potluck dinner in July.
