Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:20 p.m. 2.Adoption of Agenda Daryll Hyslop moved adoption of the Agenda with additions. Seconded by Bill Russell. Carried. 3.Adoption of the Minutes of the meetings of May and June 2006 Gus Wruck moved adoption of the Minutes of May 16th, 2006 with spelling corrections. Seconded by Gary Dunlop. Carried. Joe Younge moved adoption of the Minutes of June 20th, 2006 as corrected. Seconded by Bill Russell. Carried. 4.Financial Report - Bill Russell Bill Russell provided a Financial Report reflecting a total in the Superior Savings Account of $7,162.96, balance forward $873.79, association membership fees $150.00, no expenses, Total Balance as of July 15, 2006 $8,186.75. A new member is River's Edge. Bill and Daryll Hyslop attended a meeting there. Bill moved adoption of the financial report. Seconded by Gus Wruck. Carried. 5.Correspondence Sent AGM reservation request sent. Dave Crabb will follow up for confirmation. 6.Correspondence Received • Granite Hills. Dave Crabb read an email from to Conservation from Jake Kwakernaak regarding a golf course. Daryll advised that there have been 3 subsequent major storms since that date which would increase problems. Drain pipes drain into the lake. Gus suggested we check into golf course regulations. Joe advised that environmental permits were required for the course at Oak Lake. To be carried over. Bill will ask Joe to let us know about any response from Conservation. • Cox Morris - Liability issue was discussed regarding the insurance. • Heidi Ha mm - Pat Dunlop advised of email from mf1. Pat telephoned her and asked for a sample ad etc. North received yet. Pat to follow up. • Free Press bill - Bill Russell received. There was no deduction as promised regarding non-profit organization. $448.63 includes past due charges. Dave Crabb to contact them for appropriate adjustment. 7.Old Business a) Workshop Seminar - Funding b) MACO Website - The website was down for a few days but is up again. c) Cheque for $5,000.00 - To be carried forward. e) School Taxes - Bill Russell read a draft letter regarding school taxes from Jake Kwakernaak. f) Pelican Lake - Pat has the phone number. Carry over. g) Tembec - Dave circulated the package received from Tembec. h) AGM - Dave to follow up regarding speakers. 8. New Business a) Newsletter - Pat asked for information to be included in the Newsletter. 9.Directors' Reports Gus Wruck - • Newsletter done and included pictures of ATV damage. A Keep Off sign was posted on poles in area. Dave Crabb - • Balsam Bay area seems to be growing in popularity. Potluck coming up this weekend. Daryll Hyslop - • Reported on membership. 23 associations paid for a total of 1364 members plus 4 individual memberships - 1368 final total. • RM of Alexander elections coming and the Reeve and several counselors are standing down. • Association doing well. • Picnic will be held on the August long weekend. Bill Russell - • Area plagued with boat launching. Wants to attend a meeting in hopes of getting developers responsible for launches. • Annual picnic in August. Horse races - prize money, half to association and half to horse owner. Gary Dunlop - • Advised of the AGM held on July 8th. The beacon is still on hold. Joe Younge - • Oak Lake/Pelican Lake - consultant study of potential of aeration for fish has finished proposal but Joe has been away so hasn't seen. Meeting next week regarding proposal. AGM meeting and picnic held while he was away. 10.Date of Next Meeting - • Tuesday, September 19th, 2006 • Tuesday, October 10th, 2006 • Tuesday November 21st, 2006 11.Meeting Adjourned Bill Russell moved the meeting be adjourned at 8:24 PM |
