Information

e) Thanks to members who attend cottage meetings to disseminate information
Thanks to Barb and Daryll Hyslop who presented information to Wassahow Cottage Association in early June.  Thanks to Barb and Daryll who have updated the Invoice with added information on a tear off sheet.  Doug will also be attending Cottage Association AGMs.

f) Cox Morris Insurance complaint - Bill Russell
Bill still trying to solve this problem.

g) Land problem - Rene
The problem in Rene's cottage development began in 1998.  The closest beach was overgrown and unusable.  The residents found a natural sand beach close by as well as a second beach that required work.  Papers were drawn up with the municipality for the use of the property.  The land was leased and in use by a local farmer. The farmer would like to comply with the wishes of the resident cottagers thereby allowing them the use of the beach area.  Attempts to rectify the problem throught political channels have thus far failed.  Further attempts to fix the problem through conservation have also failed.
The land is agricultural - Lands branch requested a permit, but no records of any permit issue can be found.  All other lands that could be made into a recreation area are currently leased to Tembec or First Nations.
The land lessee has been told that he must give up a piece of land to the cottage association without any compensation for doing so.  Rene and his association are trying to work out an agreement.  Atttempts at resolution are being made. Rene will keep us informed.

8. Directors Reports
Shirley Nixon

Shirley asked about cottager magazine rates. She also spoke about the Save Our Seine River Group.  She suggested we contact the Association of Manitoba Municipalities and ask for a delegation regarding Education funding and environment.
