Box 281, Station Main, Winnipeg, R3G 2G9 Minutes of Meeting Date: Tuesday, June 21st, 2005 Time: 6:00 P M Location: CanadInn, 2100 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, Present: Dave Crabb, Daryll Hyslop, Jim Neufeld, Shirley Nixon, Doug Neal Lorraine Neal, Joe Younge, Bill Russell, Gary Dunlop, Pat Dunlop. Regrets Rene Comeault, Lindy Clubb 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:32 P M. 2. Adoption of Agenda With addition of (c) Anderson Drive Association, moved by Lorraine Neal, seconded by Gary Dunlop that the agenda be adopted. Motion carried. 3. Adoption of Minutes of the previous meeting of May 17th, 2005 Moved by Pat Dunlop seconded by Daryll Hyslop that the minutes of the previous meeting of May 17th, 2005 were adopted as presented. Motion carried. 4. Financial Report Bill Russell reported Balance of $1476.84 Plus Superior Savings Account 2065.96 Total Balance as of June 20/05 $3542.80 Moved by Bill Russell and seconded by Jim Neufeld that the financial report be adopted. Carried. Moved by Bill Russell and seconded by Daryll Hyslop that unless fees change, the following bills be paid when due - insurance, post office box and name notation fee. Carried. 5. Correspondence sent (a) Letters to Ministers Ashton and Bjoranson and the letter to Kristofferson are ready to be sent. (b) History of MACO sent to CCPCA (by Shirley) 6.Correspondence received a) Anderson Drive - See New Business 7. Old Business 1. New Business a) Constitution b) MACO/Cox Morris- Whitesands Estate sent both the membership fee and the insurance fee for Cox Morris. Bill forwarded the insurance fee to Cox Morris. c) Anderson Drive Association - Darryl Hyslop informed the meeting of issues regarding this association. It was agreed that MACO will not get involved in a dispute. Doug Neal suggested that Robert's Rules of Order be followed. If MACO is asked to chair a meeting Bill Russell will do so and Darryl Hyslop will provide information regarding MACO. d) Website - Darryl Hyslop asked members to view www.lacubonnetlions.ca regarding the contact us portion. To be discussed at the next meeting. 2. Directors Reports Pat Dunlop - provided status update on beacon for Lundar Beach & Sugar Point area. Lorraine Neal - no report but said that she has enjoyed the time with MACO and will miss the meetings. They plan to keep individual memberships and would like to remain on the mailing list for minutes and information. Daryll Hyslop - advised that he is no longer on the executive of Hazelwood Cove. They have total membership and all are paid. They are still fighting the RM regarding transfer of public reserve but it looks like it will be final in a few months. Dave Crabb - Boulder Bay is having water problems. Three dates for public water system have been set but it is not in operation yet. Beach is almost non- existent. Water levels will be at flood stage soon. There are many boil water orders and Patricia Beach has wells going bad. Jim Neufeld - AGM for Clearwater Bay scheduled for July 4th, 2005 at the airport hall. They are within a provincial park and have been asking for recycling. There is now a trailer with several compartments for sorting. Open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Have published reminder to keep dumps/cages clean. They are updating and improving the launches. They have sent a letter to Parks regarding the $100 fee increase, which was done by an order-in-council therefore, probably not effective. They are trying to keep lease fees low. Also provided a copy of the Sierra Legal Defence Fund - National Sewage Report Card III. Bill Russell - His association president resigned , new president is Vince Lavin. Please keep Jake on the mailing list. Shirley Nixon - Injuries and Drowning Prevention sent email asking for support for helmet legislation. Shirley will forward copy. Twin Lakes Association is planning to try and withdraw from the Rural Municipality of St. Laurent Gary Dunlop - Advised that the Lundar Beach & Sugar Point association's AGM is scheduled for July 9th and that a letter has been sent to the municipality regarding the new assessments and potential tax implications. Joe Younge - Advised that the Oak Lake Cottagers Association AGM was held last Sunday. Due to stress and controversy regarding new owners, there was four times the usual number in attendance. New Owners attend and provided a clear presentation of what was being done. Things are going well. The campground has been cleaned up, booth remodeled. Store costs are reasonable and good supplies. There is an ice cream stand. Lot prices were set out. Discussions on the first nine holes of a new golf course. Joe is president for another year. Donna Jean Crabb - no report Doug Neal - Great Pine Grove Estates AGM and potluck was held on Saturday. It as decided to purchase membership in MACO and insurance on annual basis unless change in costs. Thanked executive for their support. 3. Date, time and location of next meeting Next meeting Tuesday, July 19th, 2005 at the CanadInn, 2100 McPhillips Street. 4. Adjournment On a motion by Doug Neal and seconded by Gary Dunlop the meeting adjourned at 9:37 P M Carried |
