Minutes of Meeting

Also present:       Dr. Tim Hilderman, Gary Dunlop, Mrs. Donna Crabb

1. Call to order
                   The meeting was called to order by President Neal at 6:00 P M.

2. Adoption of Agenda
                   Moved by Gary Dunlop, seconded by Shirley Nixon.
                                                                                                          Motion carried.

3. Delegation
              Dr. Hilderman, Chief Medical Officer of Health for Interlake Regional
              Health Authority gave a wonderful presentation on Waterborne
              diseases. Power point handout attached.

4.Adoption of minutes of previous meeting of February 17th, 2004
              Moved by Jim Neufeld, seconded by Bill Russell that the minutes of the
              previous meeting of February 17th, 2004 are adopted as presented.
                                                                                                          Motion carried.

5.Financial Report
              Bill Russell presented his financial report showing a bank balance of
              $1764.19 Attached.

Bill moved acceptance of his report, seconded by Daryll Hyslop.
                                                                                                        
Motion carried.

          Bill reported on receipt of membership for Anderson Drive (Lac du
          Bonnet) as new association members recruited by Daryll and Barb
          Hyslop.

         
Shirley Nixon moved that the subscription to the Cottager magazine be
          paid by MACO for all MACO Directors.  Seconded by Dave Crabb.
                                                                                                      
  Motion carried.

6. Correspondence

a) Letter sent to Hon. Peter Bjornson. 
         Barb Hyslop suggested MACO join forces with the Winnipeg
         Real Estate Board in the development of a plan to have the government
         listen to our concerns regarding the removal of education tax from
         property.  Doug will call the Winnipeg Real Estate Board for information.

b) Doug indicated that we have information from Living by Water

         regarding the upcoming workshops for shoreline improvement.  We must
         email Living by Water to obtain more information on the workshops (who
         does them etc.).

c) E-mail request from Marlene Doyle, Environment Canada
for some
          association addresses. It was suggested that MACO forward to the
          associations in question, Marlene Doyle's address. If those associations
          wish to contact Ms. Doyle they can do so.

d) Other correspondence was for information only

e) Parks Coalition meeting minutes were discussed.
      Members felt that the minutes did not reflect what Minister Struthers
      comments were.  Jim Neufeld suggested that Doug request a meeting with
      Gordon Jones and ask about Minister Struthers comments.

7. Old Business

a) Grant request from Oceans and Fisheries partnered with Living by
     Water.Completed.

b) Cottage and Camping show
      MACO will not participate in the future. Shirley Nixon reported on her
      adventures with Hank Hartloper and the almost Cottage and Camping
      Show.

c) Meeting with Dwight Williamson - Manitoba Water Stewardship
Report
     Everyone was pleased with the report Mr. Williamson provided.  We will ask
     that Don Rocan attend the next meeting with Dwight in April.

8. New Business

a) Items for newsletter.

     Shirley suggested asking Manitoba Hydro for information re: the amount of
     electricity and cost of using appliances in our homes and cottages.
     Daryll suggested that rather than send newsletters to non-members, that
     future newsletters will be sent to paid up members only. MACO will send
     information packages to non-members, but no newsletters.  Newsletters will
     continue to be sent to presidents, secretaries etc.
     Spring 2004 newsletter will be sent to everyone on current database.

b) Gary Dunlop inclusion to executive, member at large.
     Moved by Daryll Hyslop that Gary Dunlop be included in the MACO       
     executive as a member at large. Seconded by Shirley Nixon.

c) Pat Porth - CARD group Whitemouth, request to meet with Dwight   
     Williamson at MACO special meetings.


       Doug will ask Pat for the CARD agenda, what the CARD group expects,
       and for her to provide MACO with a list of CARD questions they want to
       ask. The CARD group will be limited to two people and have a time limit. 
       We need to ask Dwight if he has objections to them attending our meeting.

9. Directors reports

Shirley Nixon
a) Shirley reported that she received an email from Stan indicating he had a
     person interested in doing the trees for MACO this year.  We need only
     send this person a list of names and addresses.  The executive declined.

Barb Hyslop
b) Barb has been working with Bill Russell on the membership lists. 
     Barb was unable to print the membership list sent to Bill.  Barb now shows
     the numbers of paid up members we have.

No other Director reports received.
