Box 281, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 2G9 Minutes of Meeting Date: Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 Time: 6:00 PM Location: CanadInns, 2100 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg Present Dave Crabb, Pat Dunlop, Gary Dunlop, Marian Jones, Dan Lester, Larry Baker, Donna Jean Crabb Regrets: Gus Wruck, Rene Comeault, Lorne Britton, Al Perron, Ken Corbett, Shirley Nixon. 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. 2. Adoption of Agenda Pat Dunlop moved adoption of the agenda. Seconded by Marian Jones. Carried. 3 .Adoption of the Minutes -Pat Dunlop moved adoption of the Minutes of as presented. Seconded by Donna Jean Crabb. Carried. 4.Financial Report - Gary Dunlop moved adoption of the financial report presented with date correction. Seconded by Marian Jones. Carried. 5.Correspondence Received • Balsam Harbour regarding water testing/licences. No information received. • Ed Arnold asked for support in obtaining high speed internet services. High Speed Crow Tower is up. • Dave Crabb's response to Mo Tipples concern about financial support for Lake Winnipeg Research Consortium. Dave responded to Mo by email and explained to the meeting that our motion at last year's Annual General Meeting was to write to governments supporting the need for financial assistance. However, when we contacted Al Kristofferson regarding this he said that they were receiving government support at that time and didn't need letters written to government. • Cox Morris brochure. A new brochure has been sent for printing. It contains the same information but has an improved appearance. Email to members. 6.Correspondence Sent " 7.Old Business a) Website - Carried forward b) Water Stewardship Fund - carried forward Pat to check for email from Mo Tipples. c) Grant of $5,000. Invoice received for work done to date in the amount of $1,590.00. Pat Dunlop moved that the invoice for $1,590 from Cal-Eco be paid. Seconded by Gary Dunlop. Carried. d) School Taxes Larry Baker provided update regarding recent newspaper articles e) Rally Discussed where we are going. Rally date - May 3rd at 10:00 am Dave Crabb to arrange contact for Larry Baker with the Let's Pay Fair group. f) AGM "The AGM evaluation results were reviewed. 8.New Business Meeting dates for 2008 January 15thFebruary 19thMarch 18th April 15th May 20th June 17th July 15th August 19th September 16thOctober 7thNovember 18th Marian Jones moved that the above dates be set for meetings. Seconded by Donna Jean Crabb. Carried. "Carolyn Duhamel, Manitoba Association of School Trustees Dave Crabb and Larry Baker may meet with Ms Duhamel. 9.Directors' Reports • Dan Lester - Provincial Conservation wants a north access to Grand Beach. • Dave Crabb - Lot of snow fall but none left on ground. Deer were at the bird feeders. There are now 2 cars able to park in the garage. • Gary Dunlop - No report. • Donna Jean Crabb - No report. • Pat Dunlop - No report. • Marian Jones - Subdivision back on hold. RM meeting had 3rd reading of by-law for trailer parks. (RM of Alexander #1007) They have received notice from public works foreman stating it was the responsibility of the association to fix the dock. The RM was contacted and they agree that it isn't the association's responsibility but they will give them $1,000. but it would only cover about half the cost. Dave advised that this should be reconsidered for insurance purposes. 10.Date of Next Meeting - January 15th, 2008. 11.Meeting Adjourned - Pat Dunlop moved the meeting be adjourned at 8:40 pm. |
