Call to Order President Neal called the meeting to order at 6:15 PM 2. Adoption of agenda Moved by Shirley Nixon, seconded by Pat Dunlop that the agenda is adopted with the addition in New Business: Lake Winnipeg Physa Snail Motion carried. 3. Adoption of Minutes of Previous meeting of September 21st, 2004 Moved by Lorraine Neal, seconded by Gary Dunlop that the minutes of the previous meeting of September 21st, 2004 are adopted as presented. Motion Carried. 4. Financial Report - Bill Russell Bill Russell reported MACO has a total balance of $3111.21 in bank. Bill moved adoption of his report, seconded by Daryll Hyslop. Motion carried. Membership methods were discussed and records presented to Lorraine Neal who will take over Membership. Bill has some concerns regarding Cox Morris and the insurance brochures. Bill is attempting to conclude this issue. 5. Correspondence a) Letters to radio and TV stations. Information only. b) Letters of confirmation to Minister Ashton, Professor Goldsborough, and Councilor Michael O'Shaughnessy. Information only c) Newsletter, registration sheet and AGM agenda to associations and individuals Information mailed. d) Correspondence sent by Dave Crabb and Shirley Nixon re CCPCA Information only Correspondence received a) Drinking Water Safety Regulations - Members to read regulations and comment to Dave Crabb. Dave will compile comments and advise Don Rocan. b) Various pieces of correspondence received and filed. 6. Old Business a) Letter to Fisheries and Oceans re partnering with cottage associations. Tabled b) AGM - equipment, deadline for registration, silent auction items. Date projector pick up - Pat and Gary to pick up on Friday. Registered participants - 32 to date Everyone to try for items re: silent auction. Tickets $1 each or 15 for $10. c)Set up - everyone to gather at Garden City CanadInn at 8:00 AM. Participant registration begins at 9 AM. d)Chairperson for election - Doug to call Len Heska e) Speaker lineup - approved f) Land problem - Rene Comeault Tabled g) Written submission to lake Winnipeg Stewardship Board - Dave Crabb. Deadline for submission November 1st, 2004 7. New Business a) Meeting with Dwight Williamson - Wednesday, October 13th, 2004 at VIA Rail Station, 7:00 PM. Members encouraged to attend. b) Conference call - CCPCA, October 19th, 6:00 PM. Doug Neal and Dave Crabb to participate at Dave's home. c) Lake Winnipeg Physa Snail MACO reeceived a letter from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans regarding the possibility of placing the Lake Winnipeg Physa Snail on the endangered list. We will pursue this. 8. Directors reports Bill Russell Bill has followed up on the incident of a sewage hauler in the Lac du Bonnet area, expelling raw sewage along a highway in the Lac du Bonnet area. Bill will write up the incident and pass it along at the meeting with Dwight Williamson tomorrow. Daryll Hyslop Daryll has requested a Leave of Absence. MACO will give Daryll Hyslop a Leave of Absence of indeterminate length of time. We will continue sending agendas and minutes, he'll return when ready. Shirley Nixon Questioned the status of the Shellmouth Dam project. We'll ask Dwight Williamson. Dave Crabb No report Pat and Gary Dunlop No report Lorraine Neal No report 9.
