Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:25 p.m. 2.Adoption of Agenda Gary Dunlop moved adoption of the Agenda. Seconded by Bill Russell. Carried. 3.Adoption of the Minutes of the meetings of July 2006 Pat Dunlop moved adoption of the Minutes of August 15th, 2006 with additions. Seconded by Joe Younge. Carried. 4. Financial Report - Bill Russell moved adoption of the August financial report as presented. Seconded by Gary Dunlop. Carried. Bill Russell moved adoption of the September financial report as presented. Seconded by Rene Comeault. Carried. 5. Correspondence Sent Karen McRobbie - Report sent and email response. 6. Correspondence Received AGM Minutes were received from Little Athapap Cottage Owners Association. 7.Old Business a) Website - Dave Crabb emailed Stan requesting he advise when web can be updated. b) Water Stewardship Fund - Carry forward. c) Cheque for $5,000 - No contact until this week. They will get back to us. Received letter from the province requesting reporting by August 15th. d) School Taxes- Gus not present. Carry forward. e) Pelican Lake - Pat spoke with Vic Brown at Pelican Lake. It had been suggested to contact Rick Plaizier in Oak Lake for an update on their system but he was out of town. Pat was referred to Keith McKeown who provided i information on the Oak Lake situation. Information was included in the Newletter. f) AGM • Speakers - Minister of Education is not available once again. Gus was to speak to Hawraniak. If no - contact the Conservative leader. It was suggested that we should ask AGM attendees if they are interested in volunteering to work on special topics. We will have a sign up sheet. It was also decided to list member organizations (without names and addresses) on our website. • Program • Elections - Joe Younge will run the elections. g) Meeting dates - Carry forward. 8.New Business 9.Directors' Reports Rene Comeault- • The family fun day scheduled for mid-August was rained out but was held on September long weekend and was great. • Silent auction raised $1200. • The AGM was held and there is a new secretary - Heather Ginter. Dave Crabb - • East side of Lake Winnipeg - ground has been broken for a new fire station. $1.25 million. • There will be a 24 hour ambulance quarters, a training room for members of squads. • There was Federal/Provincial/2 municipalities funding approval. First manned ambulance and place to keep equipment together. • Fall AGM - President to continue. There was no volunteer for secretary but President's wife will act in the interim. Gary Dunlop - • September meeting board elected a new president - Deb Mason, • Secretary and Treasurer remain the same. • We are planning to have a fishing day again. • The Past President (Pat Dunlop) will be following up on the beacon. Pat Dunlop - No report. Bill Russell - • Docks and boat launches are an ongoing issue. RM doesn't understand that docks and boat launches should be put in before development. Hydro/cottagers/RM have a disagreement. • Annual picnic was a great day when the weather cleared up. • Will be away for the meeting on the 10th and will be back on the 18th. • Cox Morris - There has been no response. They are being invited to a meeting. Joe Younge - • Oak Lake Water & Fish Enhancement Group received $25,000 grant from DFO. This was a direct result of consultation findings. In addition to government grant the 4 Seasons Group is subsidizing the cost of the hydro. Since May the lake is about 2 feet lower. It may be a good year to try system. • Will be away for next meeting. Joe thanked all for the last 2 years and wished luck in future for MACO. Ken Corbett - • Advised that he was happy to attend.
