The Manitoba Association of Cottage Owners inc.

Approved a motion at the November 20th, 2007 , monthly meeting to sponsor an Education Tax Rally on
May 3rd, at 10:00 A.M. at the Legislative Building
for the promotion of eliminating education taxes on all properties.

All interested property taxpayers in Manitoba are welcome. This is to remove
school tax from all property in Manitoba.

There will be guest speakers from various groups, some have already
confirmed their attendance. We will announce speakers at a later date. They
will be well-known and well-respected members of professional groups.

Encourage everyone you know who pays taxes to attend.

Don't think Gary Doer tried limiting taxes on the school boards because he
is a nice guy. Gary did this to battle groups like ours and Letspayfair
getting a strong hold on the public opinion. He is trying to sway people
with his rhetoric about how he thinks he has lowered taxes. School taxes
have in fact gone up every year and will rise again  in 2008 in almost all
school districts.

Plan to be in attendance. It will not be more than a couple of hours. Lets
make a difference and show the Province we mean business. If Manitobans
don't show up, there will be no reaction and taxes will continue to grow.
Democracy can work.

School taxes are THE most unfair tax. End the rebates, subsidies, and the
growing unfairness to seniors and multiple property owners.

End the school tax. Only 3 provinces are left taxing property in this
manner. Lets not be the last. Show up at the rally please.
