Adoption of Agenda Pat Dunlop moved adoption of the agenda as amended. Seconded Joe Younge.Motion carried. Adoption of Minutes of the previous meeting of August 16th, 2005 Moved by Pat Dunlop, seconded by Daryll Hyslop that the minutes be adopted with corrections. Motion carried. Financial Report Bill Russell reported receiving many payments since invoices were sent totaling $1,105.00. Expenses total $206.91. Interest on superior savings account $4.85. Balance in superior savings $2,075.47. Total balance $4,643.97. Moved by Bill Russell and seconded by Gary Dunlop that the financial report be adopted. Carried. Correspondence sent Contacted Doug and Lorraine Neal and they sent the book with the list of Rural Municipalities. 6. Correspondence received Robert Dakin email was discussed. 7. Old Business Workshop/seminar - Email from Dennis Lawson regarding costs of $375.00 for course at Red River Community College. Dave will contact Tim Ness to see if province will cover course costs. Planning for AGM – Dave has emailed Health re speaker. Will follow up. It was suggested that committees be set up to manage specific areas. Bill, Daryll and Donna Jean will look after receipts etc. Dave will look after set up and items required. Pat will send notice of the meeting to television and radio stations to advertise AGM (as a public service announcement). Silent Auction – Nothing received as yet. Nominating Committee - Dave Crabb will run as President (all will help). Gary Dunlop will agree to run as Vice-President to finish Dave Crabb’s term. Bill Russell will run as Treasurer again. Daryll Hyslop has 1 year left in his term. Pat will look up last year’s AGM information and prepare list of which terms are finished. Website - Bill Russell sent invoice to Stan for his use. Has not received return. Shirley turning HYPERLINK "mailto:maco@mts.net" maco@mts.net to Daryll as an alias. Sustainable Development Fund Proposal – Dave will ask Jim to take this project. . 8. New Business More Media articles – Dave advised that the US government due to high sulphate rates has shut down Devil’s Lake. Pat provided copies of articles in Spectator newspaper regarding Lake Winnipeg. Rene Comeault gave a presentation regarding government cottage lot development. Cranberry Portage, Lake of the Prairies and north of Riverton 200+ lots along the lake north of Beaver Creek. Auglen Park will be appearing before the RM regarding the rezoning on September 27th. The proposed change is from agriculture to recreational. This will be second reading and the time for objections. They are requesting a letter from MACO asking the RM to consider the stance of the proposal by Auglen Park. Rene Comeault moved that MACO write a letter of support. Seconded by Joe Younge. Motion carried. Meeting dates for 2006 - It was decided to continue have meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of the month with the exception of April and October when the water seminar and the AGM are planned. The following are the planned dates: Tuesday, January 17th, 2006 Tuesday, February 21st, 2006 Tuesday, March 21st, 2006 Tuesday, April 11th, 2006 Tuesday, May 16th, 2006 Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 Tuesday, July 18th, 2006 Tuesday, August 15th, 2006 Tuesday, September 19th, 2006 Tuesday, October 10th, 2006 Tuesday, November 21st, 2006 (d) Loyalty Points – Gary Dunlop advised that one of the cashiers had suggested loyalty points with the CanadInn. Daryll advised that Barb had looked into it previously and we had been refused. Gary will check further. Directors Reports Pat Dunlop - Reported on Gary and Pat’s breakfast meeting with the Lake Winnipeg Consortium and Minister Reagan. An update on beacon. Joe Younge - Joe advised that things had pretty much wound down at Oak Lake. Rural Crime Watch group almost 2 years. More volunteers than needed in summer. New owners have all RV’s out of campground. New 30 amp service in campground. There are discussions with RM regarding garbage pickup and other things. They feel there is not much received from the municipality for their tax dollars. There is a chain link fence around the storage compound. There will be more stored there than ever before. Brandon Sun had an article re Pork Producers wanting school taxes removed. Shirley Nixon – They are still having problems with Hydro. They have a monitor on the cottage. They require something positive. Shirley hopes that they will be back in July. There have been 7 freezers and 4 fridges replaced in 8 cottages. Donna Jean Crabb - No report. Daryll Hyslop – Association had AGM earlier in September. There is a serious bear problem in the area. A column has now been added to the membership list indicating those associations who have insurance. Maskanow Drive have renewed again. A couple of hours were spent with them again. Anderson Drive problems continue. He got a copy of the constitution. They can have one AGM/year to do business. Executive can call a fall meeting for windup. There is no provision for members at large to call meeting. RM of Alexander has contracted with Prairie By-law. Spoke about septic services – Rene’s and Christie’s. Bill Russell - They have a new president for their association. They are chasing bear and deer and have a war on with skunks and raccoons. Gary Dunlop –.At a social gathering recently someone mentioned that there was a sewer drain leading into the Red River (about an 18 inch pipe) that was dumping raw sewage into the river. Gary will follow up to get more information. Rene Comeault - At the AGM on the September long weekend, he stepped down. There is a new president – Marion Jones. They hold an appreciation dinner for volunteers each year. He said he had a terrific executive working with him. Had some ATV problems. Beavers have plugged the channel and are working on solving the problem. Trying to work with the government on the new subdivision. Gus Wruk – AGM held September 17th. 25-30 people attended. Had pot luck supper. Gus is president again. There is a new vice president and secretary treasurer. The Reeve attended. There are ongoing water tests – both clinical and biological. There is rural crime watch in the area. They are encouraging grass cutting on both sides. There are some drainage problems – both public and private. RM has done some. A Newsletter is published once or twice a year. (Fournier Drive News) There are a couple of public reserve areas. Dave Crabb – Boulder Bay is still looking for a vice-president. Dave will be running the public water system again. Sandbagging is beginning.
